Hey guys! I'm Marissa Cohen. I know that the past couple of years have been hard for a lot of you, so I want this blog to be an escape from life and the hardships of it. In this blog, you'll learn a little bit about me, where I'm from, my interests, and much more! 



I am from Miami, Florida, and miss the warm weather a lot right now. I've heard from a lot of people that they either hate Florida or they love it. That makes sense to me because after living there for my entire life, I still don't enjoy the sandy beaches, never wearing sweatpants, the over-crowdedness and being sweaty all the time. Trust me, it's not fun. On a lighter note, I love the landscape of Florida and the activities I can do while I'm there. In the summer, I want to lounge at the beach and read my books. Realistically, I'll have a job after my birthday trip.

Despite it being spring where I go to school (not Florida), the weather hasn't held up its bargain. I am hoping the weather clears up soon so I can wear shorts again! 



I am currently a junior at High Point University, which is in North Carolina! While I'm in school, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree with a major in Strategic Communication and a minor in Creative Writing. With my major and minor I can explore many different avenues and have the opportunities for a lot of options in my field. I am not sure what I want to end up pursuing yet, because with my major and minor there is a lot that I can accomplish, and I have big dreams for myself.

Some things I love to do are going to brunch with my friends, getting my nails done, watching movies, getting organized while the rain is pouring outside my window, going to fairs and halloween themed parks, and so much more! One of my favorite things to do is to make someone smile. I am often described by my friends as the crazy, creative, loving Floridian girl. 



One of my favorite things ever is to travel.  I've been to a lot of places including Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Africa, Dubai, Japan, the Bahamas, France, London, Anguila, St. Maarten and St. Bart. I'm super grateful that I've gotten to go to these places because I love being immersed in different cultures and trying new things. Something that I pride myself on is making sure that I respect other cultures and pay them respect.

One of my favorite vacations was after my high school graduation. I went to London and France for two weeks for some family members, and I had SO MUCH FUN. It was so amazing, especially since I had been planning to go since I was 13. When I was there in 2019, I went to plays, markets, ballet shows, museums and one of my favorite things, the Harry Potter exhibit. I have been a die hard Harry Potter fan since I knew what the series was and have developed a love for the books. I was super happy seeing the behind-the-scenes props and hope that my future career will impact others in a way that will make them smile.

In the future, I'm hoping to have a job where I can impact others in a positive way while making myself happy in the accomplishments I'll have and the experiences I'll create for myself. I'm not sure what I necessarily want to pursue in the future, but I know for sure that I'm going to make an impact.

BLOG POST 3 - MEME Introduction Welcome to my third blog post!  The premise of this assignment was to create a meme that is original and that allows you to adapt your skills to create a meme that is unique and original. This assignment tested students skills in making memes and making sure they were able to understand how to follow instructions in creating this.  Meme and Layers Panel Layers Panel Meme Challenges While Making My Meme  When putting this meme together I realized the step by step process of making sure everything was laid together smoothly and that everything worked together cohesively was difficult for building a first time meme.
