Blog Post 2: Business Cards
What I Learned
By: Marissa Cohen
Introduction
Welcome to my second blog post! This week in my class I learned how to make a business card. I had to follow a rubric on how to make the card and do my best to follow directions in order to produce a well-made product. I think it's important to know that getting the dimensions for the card right are essential, and making sure you use a professional photo when creating the cards is also a recipe for a successful business card.
BUSINESS CARD
This image before the final preview of the card allowed me to see what I was able to produce and my placement of everything I wanted to be included on this business card.
FINAL PRODUCT
My final business card turned out well for the first time making it. I did my best to follow the correct dimensions and bleed in order to achieve a good business card.
What I Learned
Something that aided me when making this card were the readings and assignment itself. I was able to learn how to insert my graphics and make sure I was following the correct directions. Something else I think is important to note is when making your card, be sure to be patient and identify what you want to go onto the card thoughtfully before pursuing your final product.
Key Takeaways
I was able to learn more about Adobe InDesign and discover how to create a business card, something I've never done before. I also learned about different measurements and sizing, and how important they are. Another thing I learned was to follow the directions, because I was able to produce my very own business card in the end.
I'm looking forward to working with InDesign in the future!
